![]() As part of the Lowes' program, Women Build, our WRTR Coalition worked on the Cassels Build on May 8th with Merl Almquist as the construction supervisor. Lisa Eliason, Assistant Athens City Prosecutor, and Betty Jo Parsley, of Nelsonville with several women--Janet Polzer, Pat Merriell, Val Scholl, Anita James, of the WRTR group, worked with Sue Cassels on hanging drywall. Habitat and the group would like to thank The Farmacy for providing a wonderful lunch for the women with sandwiches, snacks and drinks. These women put in a hard day's work of hanging drywall. Our current Habitat home (our 23rd) is being built with the Cassels by the Faith Build Coalition. The progress of the build is moving right along--the roof is on, doors and windows in, framing is up inside, electric and plumbing completed. The siding is done; the HVAC is completed, the ReCouperator is in place, and the drywall has been started. As soon as the paint and flooring is completed, the appliances can be put in place. The progress has been and is amazing. We would like you to get excited and join us in ending substandard housing for low-income families in Athens County.

Regular volunteer work days are Fridays from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. But we are sorry to say that we have all the volunteers needed. However, you are still welcome to drop by the site with lunch for our workers. Call the office at (740) 592-0032 for the number of workers who need lunch. Join Us in building homes with families, in changing their lives and futures, and in breaking the cycle of poverty.
