ReStore Update
We are in need of a building to establish our ReStore!
We have been so fortunate and blessed lately to receive many donations to help stock our ReStore, even though we don't have a building to put it in.  Most recommendations we are receiving regarding ReStore buildings says they should be a minimum of 5,000 sq ft.  If you have a building, know of a building or would like to donate a building for this purpose, please contact us by email or click on this link.  And remember, donations to Athens County Habitat for Humanity are tax deductible.

"What is a ReStore?"
A Habitat ReStore sells, at a discounted price, donated building materials, overstocks of building materials from local stores, or gently used building materials from people remodeling such as windows, doors, hardware, paint, closet organizers, toilets, showers, cabinets, light fixtures, etc.  The monies from the ReStore are then used to build Habitat homes.  One ReStore is known to add, from the earnings, three additional homes per year to its affiliate.  A ReStore would not only help us build more Habitat homes, but would benefit the community in providing local homeowners and landlords with discounted building materials as well as helping the environment by recycling building materials into other homes.  We are also hoping to use the ReStore to help provide training and internships for local vocational schools and colleges as well as with the Department of Job and Family Services and Good Works.

TRIVIA

Did you know that you can make a donation to Habitat in honor of someone for their birthday, Mother's or Father's Day, graduation or other special event?  You can make a donation to Athens County Habitat for Humanity in memory of a loved one who has passed away.  If it's your birthday, anniversary, or retirement, ask family members and friends to donate in your honor in lieu of gifts.   We have had a couple who registered on a website ask family and friends for donations to their favorite charities for their wedding in lieu of gifts.
